About the role Expected start date: September 2026 We’re advertising early to find the right person and have everything ready from day one. We’re looking for a confident Pest Control Technician to join our small, owner-operated business servicing Byford and surrounding suburbs. This role will suit someone based south of the river or within reasonable travel distance of Byford, as most work is local to that area. The work is mostly residential — owner-occupied homes, newer builds, acreage properties and established residential areas. You’ll deal directly with homeowners every day, so clear communication and customer service matter just as much as technical ability. We’re not looking for someone who just wants to spray and disappear. We want someone reliable, well-presented, physically capable, good with customers, and proud of their work. Much of our termite and residential work is around newer homes and post-construction properties, so there is generally less subfloor work than many pest control roles. You’ll be supplied with a brand new 4x4 dual cab Ford Ranger to take home , fully set up with a custom canopy, fridge, lithium battery system, and charging setup for Makita tools and FlowZone equipment. You’ll also get a fuel card, all tools, PPE, uniform and phone supplied. Key responsibilities Carrying out general pest treatments for common residential pests Completing termite inspections and post-construction termite barrier work Speaking directly with residential customers onsite Explaining treatments clearly and professionally Completing digital reports through mobile apps Working in roof voids, around building perimeters and outdoors when required Looking after your ute, tools and equipment A typical general pest day involves around 5–6 jobs . Some days may only involve 2–3 jobs , especially on larger bush blocks, acreage-style properties or more involved treatments. Termite inspections are given proper time, usually around 1.5–2 hours , so they can be completed thoroughly and explained properly to the customer. We care more about doing the job properly than rushing through as many jobs as possible. What we’re looking for Current WA Pest Management Technician Licence covering termite inspection and barrier work Full C-Class Driver’s Licence White Card Police clearance, or ability to get one Pest control experience Strong communication skills Confidence dealing with residential customers Ability to work independently Physically fit and comfortable working in roof voids and outdoors in Perth summer conditions Comfortable using mobile reporting apps Reliable, honest and able to show up consistently Communication is non-negotiable. Technical skills, product knowledge and processes can be sharpened, but you need to be able to speak with customers clearly, explain the work in plain English, and make people feel confident they’ve chosen the right company. What we offer $75,000 – $90,000 depending on experience Brand new 4x4 dual cab Ford Ranger Take-home vehicle with fuel card Custom canopy, fridge and lithium battery setup Charging setup for Makita tools and FlowZone equipment All tools, PPE, uniform and phone supplied 38-hour base week No scheduled work on public holidays Mostly residential owner-occupier work A lot of newer homes and post-construction properties Limited subfloor work compared with many pest control roles Direct access to the business owner No corporate layers Start times are generally around 7:00am in summer and around 8:00am in winter , depending on the season and schedule. Flexible working hours can be discussed where it makes sense, as you’ll be dealing directly with the owner, who also manages the scheduling. Saturday work is not expected. Extra Saturday work may be available during summer, but it is optional. If you just want to do your 38 hours and go home, that’s fine. Overtime is available during busy periods and paid at the applicable overtime rates. Who this role suits This role will suit someone who is reliable, honest, physically capable, good with customers, and happy working independently. It probably won’t suit someone who needs constant direction, avoids customer conversations, turns up late, cuts corners, or doesn’t look after equipment. We’re a small business, so the person we hire matters.
